This is a message from Dr. Anthony George's Wednesday night Bible study. Here's the link to the audio message from FBA's website. My notes are only meant to be a guide to assist in your Bible study. Enjoy! :)
Romans 15:20-29
- We must be strategic about reaching the unreached.
- We must be determined to eliminate the barriers between believers.
- The Jewish were taught not to interact with Gentiles. But with Gentiles becoming Christians, Jewish people had to learn to interact with them as mutual believers.
- James knew churches were built around fellowship meals. He proposed a compromise with what food was brought to these meals so that Gentiles and Jews could eat together in harmony.
- Is what we do based on our preference or our convictions? Culture (segregation) or fellowship (oneness through the blood of Christ)? Tradition or truth? Style or substance? Law or grace? Maintenance or mission? Our church or God's church?
- Be devoted.
- We must be sensitive to the sufferings of Christians in adversity.
- If a Christian is hurting, we shouldn't overlook their adversity. We should hurt for them.
- Galatians 8:10 NASB
