Aug. 24, 2016 | Jesus is the Door

This is a message from Dr. Anthony George's Wednesday night Bible study. Here's the link to the audio message from FBA's website. My notes are only meant to be a guide to assist in your Bible study. Enjoy! :)
John 10:7-10
The door represents the ownership of the land and the sheep. Here Jesus says he is the literal door itself.
  1. Jesus is the doorway to God's kingdom.
    • Spiritual thieves and robbers share false truth
    • Spiritual thieves and robbers deprive people from the truth
    • Spiritual thieves and robbers distract people from the truth
      • Many times its not done on purpose.
      • These people are preventing people from knowing the love of God.
      • John 10:9
    • Not only can Jesus show you the way to God, He says "I AM" the door to God.
    • Is Christ your center? Is it through Him in which you live, or is He just of sideline importance?
  2. Satan is the thief who always destroys.
    • John 10:10
    • The thief comes to steal. Everything Satan tries to take, is not his.
      • Satan knows that he cannot take your salvation away from you.
      • But he can take something else. Hold onto your joy, sanctification, and witnesses and be careful to keep them away from the clutch of Satan. Do not let others see, or even have a chance to witness anything that would make you or them waiver in their faith in God.
    • The thief comes to kill.
      • Satan loves the loss of life here on earth. It deprives the life from
      • Christians should love and root for the sanctity of human life.
      • Satan wants to keep us ignorant.
    • The thief comes to destroy.
      • How many Christians are indifferent to the devil? "The devil made me do it!" Yet he is very real. He is still working and will oppress and possess.
      • There is no room for indifference or ignorance about the devil. We must know how he works and have a radar on to be careful.
  3. Jesus is our source for life at its best.
    • Life more abundant.
    • Jesus comes to make life possible. John 3:17
      • He did not come to deprive, but to give.
      • He did not come to
      • John 10:11, John 10:15
    • Jesus comes to make life powerful. John 10:25
      • Faith brings fullness
      • Mariam and Martha.
      • I am the vine: John 15
Jesus wants you to not only survive but to thrive!
And cue casting crowns song :D
