Jun. 01, 2016

This is a message from Dr. Anthony George's Wednesday night Bible study. Here's the link to the audio message from FBA's website. My notes are only meant to be a guide to assist in your Bible study. Enjoy! :)
  1. Don't be afraid in the Will of God. There's nothing to be afraid of because God's got you!
  • If, however, you are not in His will,
  • Fear will keep you from moving on to the next step.  Fear will get you stuck in the food chain of life.
  • Fear of aging, rejection, finances, debt, the list goes on.
  • If Paul, a wonderful Christian still had fear holding him back.
  • Where does fear come from? Satan can be the source of it, but as much as we attribute fear to him, he's getting too much credit. Sometimes it doesn't even take him to grow fear. Sometimes you are around people with contagious, superstitious fear. Sometimes fear becomes a stronghold in our lives.
  • Take a deep breath and step over your fear!
    1. What am I programming in my mind that's creating this anxiety?
      • Television, radio, environment, etc.
      • Many of us carry fear from childhood.
      • God is a liberating
2. Always look for ways to share your faith.
  • Keep speaking about Jesus! The Gospel!
  • Don't be silent.
  • Yet, Proverbs 17:28.
  • This isn't unfiltered speaking. This is referring to staying quiet when you should be speaking. There's too much at stake to miss an opportunity to share the love of Christ.
  • Silence constitutes defiance.
  • You can be lovingly bold.
  • Jeremiah 1:7-8 NKJV no need to follow trends or what's hip--follow God's Word.
  • Salvation is turning to something. Requires turning away from something. Repentance.
  • If we lose the church while we're bringing them here, what are we to the world?
  • Are you more willing to share your opinions about things of the world (sports, fashion, stocks, etc) than to share the truth?
  • What has eternal significance?
3. Remember God's responsibility to your life.
  • Every parent is responsibility for His child.
    • Present
      • "For I am with you" (v.10)
      • Psalm 46:1 NASB not yesterday or tomorrow, but today!
      • Psalm 46:10 NKJV; Psalm 46:10 NASB
      • He is almighty, infinite, the keeper, Father, Author, Creator, inhabits
    • Protect
      • If you or I get attacked, God had to allow it.
      • When you are fearful of what someone might do to you, remember what Pontius Pilot said to Jesus and His response: John 19:11 NASB
      • Psalm 121 NLT
      • The Lord God never slumbers or sleeps--no gaps in His protection.
4. God appoints people to bless us.
  • He puts people in our lives just when you need them. Not necessarily all Christians. God chooses who will stand by your side to provide a blessing.
    • Joseph needed a butler to remember him.
    • David needed a Samuel to be his advocate.
    • Moses
    • Joshua--Canin
    • Queen Ester
    • Nehemiah rebuilding walls.
    • Jesus had John the Baptist, who prepared the way of The Lord
    • Barnabas.
    • Timothy had a Paul.
  • No matter what you're going through now, God has appointed someone to be in your life to get you through it.
