Jan. 13, 2016 | Can We Know the Future?

This is the very first message to Dr. Anthony George's Wednesday night Bible study series on the End Times. Here's the link to the audio message from FBA's website. My notes are only meant to be a guide to assist in your Bible study. Enjoy! :)

Acts 1:6-11
  • 40 days after resurrection; reunion
  • they knew kingdom split from Israel
  1. GOD IS NOT FINISHED WITH ISRAEL.
    • It is difficult to read scripture and not be Pro-Israel
    • Mount of Olives gives beautiful overview of Jerusalem
    • Romans 9, 10, & 11
    • Romans 11:25 NASB
    • God's covenant with the Jewish people is irreversible: Romans 11:26b-29
  2. JESUS CHRIST WILL RETURN TO EARTH.
    • Understand the geography of it: where He will come back
    • This is why we believe in Bible prophesy.
    • The angels said that Jesus would come back the same way He left: in the clouds!
    • He is coming back to conquer the world.
    • This is the final proclamation.
  3. GOD WILL NOT REVEAL SPECIFIC TIMES TO US.
    • One of the most important things a political leader can say is advocacy for Israel.
    • When it's all said and done, it'll all be about Israel.
    • Politics ---> Pro Israel ---> WIN.
    • We may not know the specific times, but according to Jesus there are signs we can watch for. He said so Himself.
    • There is no need for date-picking or calendar choosing.
  • We are in good company when we want to know when Jesus is coming back. Some things we can know:
    • "I don't know when Jesus Christ is coming back, but I do know I have power to witness for Him." Acts 1:7-8
    • "I don't know when Jesus is coming back, but I do know that it will be glorious reunion."
    • "I don't know when Jesus is coming back, I know that I am serving the One who will set it straight--the One who has defeated every foe. He's already victorious.
    • "I may not know when He's coming back, but I know what's going to happen when He comes: every knee will bow and every voice will confess HE IS LORD."
    • Israel is the cornerstone to prophesy.
    • Even though He doesn't want us to know the specifics, God does have a timeline.
  • Your view of prophesy shapes how you see the world. New interpretative view of current events. Helps you not be despaired. Bible Prophesy helps you understand geography--The Holy Land of Israel--no dispute of to whom it belongs.

Prophesy is good news for Christians.
  • "I've read the back of the book and we win!"
  • While I'm not exactly sure who originally wrote the song, the performances by The Cathedrals seems to be the most popular! Take a few minutes and listen to it! :)
  • Which performance do you like better? The one from 2009 or the one from 2014? I love them both! The 2009 video might be older than it is listed because of their clothing style and the technology used, but I don't know when it's from. Seeing the group continue to perform so well over the years is just so great! :)

I WIN. YOU WIN, BECAUSE HE HAS ALREADY WON!

Mar. 02, 2016 | Thy Kingdom Come

This is the eighth and last message to Dr. Anthony George's Wednesday night Bible study series on the End Times. Here's the link to the audio message from FBA's website. My notes are only meant to be a guide to assist in your Bible study. Enjoy! :)

I'm sorry y'all, I missed the beginning of the message this week! I will surely listen to the entirety of this message when it is posted on the website and fill in the notes for y'all! :)
Revelation 20:1-6
  1.  It is time for the glory of The Lord to fill the entire earth.
  2.  It is a time for all the earth to worship God. Psalm 33:8
  3. The Millennium is a fulfillment of God's covenants with Israel.
    • *Conditional covenant: God says: "If you will... Then I will..."
    • Unconditional covenant: God says: "Behold I will..."
      • Abraham: promise for a nation (Genesis 12,15,17)
      • Moses (Exodus 20)*
      • David: eternal throne (2 Samuel 7)
      • New: regathering of people (Ezekiel 35 & Jeremiah 31)
    • Ezekiel 37:21-24 (vs 21 Abraham), (v 22 David), (v 23 New)
    • God's promises are the foundation of our faith. Without proper understanding of these covenants, we cannot understand the covenant He has with us.
  4. The Millennium is Messianic. Revelation 11:15
  5. It is the time when Jesus will be the King of the Jews. Matthew 27:11; John 19:19
  6. Jesus will be king of the whole earth. Zechariah 14:9
  7. It will be a time of justice and peace. Isaiah 2:4
  8. It will be a time of total safety. Micah 4:4
  9. The Gentiles will make pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Zechariah 8:22
  10. The Jews will lead people to the Messiah. Zechariah 8:23 NLT
  11. Jerusalem will be the capital of the world. Micah 4:2
  12. Israel will repent of unbelief in Jesus. Zechariah 12:10
  13. There will be a partial reversal of the curse. Isaiah 11:5
  14. Satan will be bound the entire time!
  15. Fresh water will flow from Jerusalem. Ezekiel 47
    • Imagine fresh water flowing into the Dead Sea, bringing life to it.
    • Fish in the Dead Sea!

Feb. 24, 2016 | Close to the End

This is the seventh message to Dr. Anthony George's Wednesday night Bible study series on the End Times. Here's the link to the audio message from FBA's website. My notes are only meant to be a guide to assist in your Bible study. Enjoy! :)

Romans 11:17-18

Three main things that indicate we are close to the end.
 1. 1 Corinthians 15:50-57
  • These verses follow an extensive history of the church
  • There is no Gospel without the resurrection of Jesus
    • Not only did Jesus die for our sins, He resurrected from it.
  • Mystery is used 27 times in the New Testament
    • Mystery is the resurrection of the church
    • Resurrection of the rightful dead (this was known), aka Christian dead
    • Who and where is the church was the mystery
  • The first thing that will happen is that the trumpet will sound (a universal call that will be heard by all Christians)
    • The dead will be raised first.
    • Then, we shall all be changed.
      • Transformed for eternal occupation in His Glory
  • But what's beautiful and glorious about raising dead? We picture horror movies. Yet, all believers, alive or dead will be changed. This change must occur for us.
    • Mortality cannot absorb immorality. Must be changed and replaced.
    • Our death-cursed bodies must be replaced with curse-free bodies that will fit us for eternal habitation.
  • Glorification: when our redemption is made complete
    • 1 John 3:2 NASB
      • When He appears is the rapture.
    • Philippians 3:21 NASB
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
  • Adds clarification and detail to the above Corinthians passage
  • Ultimate redemption comes when we are separated from our sinful nature
  • Paul, in verse 15, by the Word of The Lord
    • Paul often quotes Old Testament passage to qualify his New Testament statement. But since the mystery is not mentioned in the OT, he cannot do that here. Instead, he says it is from The Lord, which is quite good enough qualification for me. :)
    • Galatians 1:12
  • Verse 16
    • The dead in Christ will be raised.
      • Suggestion of soul sleep. Yet 2 Corinthians . At death, our souls go up to Jesus. It is our bodies that are put to sleep. *INTERPRET SCRIPTURE WITH SCRIPTURE*
  • Verse 17: the believers on earth will be drawn into the air.
    • Greek: Harpazo = snatch.
    • Latin: Rapto = snatch.
    • English word Rapture
    • The word rapture may not be in the Bible, but the concept definitely is there. Same for the Trinity.
2. Resumption of Gods Plan for Israel.
  • This is where the 70th week of Daniel 7 occurs.
  • This is the 7 year tribulation.
  • At the midpoint, Israel will be betrayed by the AntiChrist.
  • Last half is the Great Tribulation
  • Regathered Israel is purged and cleansed
  • Final time all prophesies are fulfilled
  • Sets the stage for
3. Return of Christ
  • The distinctions between the Rapture of The Church and the Return of Christ
  • Scripture eminite  event specific signs
  • Church vs for Israel
  • Removes church for the 70th week vs includes
  • Rapture only revealed in NT vs Return mentioned in OT and NT
  • LISTED TOO FAST. WILL UPDATE WITH ENTIRE LIST ONCE THE AUDIO MESSAGE IS UPLOADED ONLINE.
  • Main idea is that Rapture and the Return are completely different things.

Feb. 17, 2016 | Israel's Tribulation

This is the sixth message to Dr. Anthony George's Wednesday night Bible study series on the End Times. Here's the link to the audio message from FBA's website. My notes are only meant to be a guide to assist in your Bible study. Enjoy! :)

Daniel 9:24

  Zechariah 14: 1-5, v. 9
  • Jeremiah saw this day.
  • Daniel saw this day.
  • Zechariah saw this day.
TWO FINAL THREATS TO ISRAEL'S DECEPTION
  • Battle of Gog and Magog: it's not science fiction. It is in the Bible.
    • Gog is leader
    • Magog is the empire in which he resides (Russia, Turkey, Iran, Sudan-- Apart from Russia, all Islamic nations)
    • May be a Russian Islamic alliance.
    • Natural destruction and disease
    • This is based on interpretation of Ezekiel
    • Ezekiel 38
  • 2 Thessalonians  breath
  1. Every one of these prophesies in Daniel, Zechariah, and Revelation is for Israel only.
  2. Every one of these prophesies are still yet to occur. Unchecked on God's list.
  3. The church is no where to be found in any of the prophesies. Therefore the tribulation is for Israel, not the church.
348 important number in Old Testament. Matthew was a bridge from Israel to the church. Revelation was a bridge from the church back to Israel.

Jan. 27, 2016 | The Golden Key of Prophesy

This is the third message to Dr. Anthony George's Wednesday night Bible study series. Here's the link to the audio message from FBA's website. My notes are only meant to be a guide to assist in your Bible study. Enjoy! :)

Daniel 9:20-27
  • We are living in the gentile period.
  • God is not yet finished with Israel.
  • Daniel is as essential to the Old Testament as Paul is essential to the New Testament.

Information from Gabriel the angel
  1. Give insight and understanding
  2. Tell Daniel that in Heaven, he is highly favored.
    • Prayer was the most important thing in Daniel's life. What's yours?
    • In verses 14, 16, 17, Daniel acknowledges problems instead of choosing the view of victimization. He reproaches the situation
  3. Reveal timeline (Daniel 9:23-27)
    • Jeremiah 25:11-12 and Jeremiah 29:10-11 (exiles of Judah)

70 = time for exiles in Babylon; also number of years forfeited Sabbaths of Israel (Leviticus 25:3-4 and Ezekiel 4:1-6)--we cannot fight with God because He'll get what He asks for one way or another (2 Chronicles 36: 20-21).

  • Birth of Synagogue during exile.
  • 490 -- years appointed (Daniel 24)
    • 70 Weeks of Prophesy

Prophesy for 70 Years
  1. Messiah will be cut off (crucifixion).
    • After this, a generation lived, then in 70AD, Jerusalem was destroyed in the Roman War
  2. The Mystery will unfold (growth of church).
    • In Ephesians, Paul calls the Gentile church the Mystery.
  3. The man of sin will appear (calamity of people).
  4. Messiah will conquer world.

INTERPRET THE KEY
  1. There are seventy units of seven
  2. Each "seven" is seven years
  3. "Seven" can be translated to "week"
  4. Each week is seven years
  5. 70 weeks (70 x 7) = 490 years
  6. Each year is an Old Testament prophetic year of 360 days.
  • #1-3 Christ accomplished these all on Earth
  • #4 Everlasting righteousness
  • #5 Seal of Prophesy
Deceptive Antichrist turning against many of Israel in the last half of 7 years of tribulation.
    • Time and times plus half a time = 3 1/2
King Artaxerxes gave a decree that restored Jerusalem.
483 Years have gone by, but there is a pause in this current age, the last 70 years.
  • 7 year tribulation in Revelation.
  • Rapture between Daniel 9:26 and Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24
    • Returning of Sacred Temple on the Mount as mentioned in scripture
