1 Corinthians 15:1-3  

• the context of the Gospel in the resurrection 
  • Christ is at the center of the resurrection 
  • The church has the responsibility of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus cannot be separated from the Word. The Gospel permeates throughout the whole Bible.
  • Components of the Gospel
    1. Death of Jesus
    2. Burial of Jesus (confirming His death)
    3. Raised from the grave on the third day

• The context of the Gospel is the scripture 
  • The explanation of the gospel accomplishes is the scripture 
  • Our faith rests on the integrity of the scripture 
  • 1 Corinthians 15:3 "according to the scripture"
  • The commentary on the New Testament use of the Old Testament *check it out sometime! Demonstrates the indivisible link between the two.
  • Jesus's resurrection is meaningless without first understanding the first three chapters of Genesis. Jesus came to save us from the sin, which began in Genesis 3.
  • Otherwise, to which can we attribute the existence of evil?
  • Doctrine of separation: Genesis 3:7 NASB, Genesis 3:21 NASB, 
  • Genesis 22:8 NASB what God requires from us, we cannot provide ourselves, so God will provide for us.
  • Romans 4:3 NASB
  • Atonement "at-one-ment"
  • John 1:29 NKJV without the Old Testament, the meaning of this is lost
  • 1 John 2:1-2 NKJV   
  • Hebrews 4:16 NKJV
  • Galatians 4:22 NKJV
  • Isaiah 53:5-6 NKJV
