Title: The Anchor for Our Lives
Base Verse: Acts 27:1-44
Storms where we are faced with decisions we don’t want to make, are singled out in opinion, want to do things we shouldn’t do.
We must make time to be alone and listen to God. Jesus started his days with the Father, to the point of even making others wait for him while he meditated. Prayer alone with God is essential.
What does this story have to do with me? SERIOUS LESSONS TO LEARN:
- Follow the counsel of those who know how to listen to God. Doing so can save your life, finances, relationships. God will never mislead you--after all, He sent His Son to die on the cross for you.
- Remember that the way of the majority may not be the way of God. Acts 27:12 Not only hear what the majority says, but take into consideration who the individual is. Do they spend time with God? Be careful not to make decisions based on the majority, or who’s in authority. Rank does not make someone wise if they don’t have a relationship with the Lord. Make decisions based on what God tells us, because God is the only one who knows what the day holds.
