Date: January 13, 2019
Preacher: Dr. Charles Stanley
Title:
Base Verse: Luke 22:34-42

Defined: The Will of God is that which God approves of and determines to bring about. It concerns God's choices of what to do and not to do.
Is anybody asking: What’s the Will of God?
  • 1 Peter 3:17
    • It is better to suffer for doing right; if that should be God's Will, it is better than anything you do on your own.
  • Do you consult God before making decisions?
    • Should I buy this? Should I go to this event? Should I go to this place? Should I marry this person?
  • God loves you and has a plan designed especially for you.
    • When you ask God for direction, He’s not going to turn a deaf ear to you.
    • There are a lot of things that we are not equipped for. But you were created for a specific purpose and we must listen to God to discover just what that purpose is.
  • When we go day by day without meditating on His Word and spending time with God, we are saying to God that we don’t need His divine guidance.
    • No matter what we try: alcohol, drugs, or sex, just a taste of these worldly things will eventually make us adicts to these behaviors. None of these will ever satisfy the longing in our hearts the way following God does.
    • Are you seeking His direction?
  • When you listen to Him and do what He says, you will have God’s best for you. It is the only way we can achieve complete satisfaction in life.
    • Instead of going to a counselor with your problems, try going to God.
    • Ask God: Show me Your Will for my life.
      • Show me your Will for today. Don’t let me miss anything you want for me today.
      • Lord, am I in your Will?
        • Yes
        • No: what would you like for me to change?
    • It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you’ve done. God will show you what to do where you are.
  • Life is serious business.
    • A lot of decisions will be made and making the decision to follow God’s Will lead you to a fulfilling life.
    • You can’t get in a mess that God can’t get you out of.
    • God knows why He created you and He’s willing to show you how to live a fulfilling life, if you ask.

Are you living in the Will of God for your life?

Don’t settle for a settled-for life.

It all begins with surrendering to the Will of God.

You can’t alter God’s love for you. He’s willing to forgive you and the mess you’ve made to show you His Will for you.
