Lunchables Uploaded Snack: The Walking Taco

Y'all, sorry for being away for so long. Posts will become regular someday I promise! Now, onto what motivated me to write a post: so, about a month ago I came across a relatively new Lunchable series idea that I knew I just had to try, but I didn't want to pay full price for it. A few weeks later, to my surprise, I found them at Kroger already at a manager's special discount.

The Lunchables Uploaded series started about two years ago in 2013, according to their YouTube page and Facebook page. After a quick Google search, I didn't find much else about the series. From the website for Lunchables Parents, this series offers Lunchables that better qualify as full lunches than their traditional Lunchables. In addition to this, the Uploaded series also has a snack line that is composed of different flavored "Walking Tacos."

The one I got on sale was the Beef Walking Taco.

Inside the small box, they packed in a bag of chips, taco sauce, fully cooked ground beef, nacho cheese sauce, and a plastic spork. Seeing so much inside a small box is delightful, at first.

My interest in this "Walking Taco" snack all but disintegrated after I opened the bag of chips. The bag was 90% air and 10% tiny cold chips.

Proceeding through the steps as instructed, I squeezed the meat into the bag on top of the chips, then the taco sauce and the cheese. I microwaved the bag for 15 seconds as instructed, and then tried it.

The cheese and meat flavors tasted as they should, but the chips bent as if stale. I couldn't eat it because of the chips and ended up throwing the whole bag away.

On a side note however, the meat with the cheese and sauce is the perfect quantity for a personal side order of nacho fries. I saw the Nacho flavored Walking Taco on manager's special as well, and this time I knew not to use the chips the Lunchables provides.
Instead, I cooked up some frozen fries and poured the packets in with the fries.

These fries definitely made buying the Lunchables worthwhile, in my opinion. But if you're craving a crunchy hot and delicious taco or nachos you can eat on the go, you're better off going to a restaurant or even making them yourself.

Thanks for reading! :)
